PICK A FLOWER:

1 - Veratrum:
These flowers are on almost all mountains in the Northern Hemisphere. The plants are perennial herbs, known as โ€œWhite Helleboreโ€. The flowers are commonly used for ornamental purposes due to their beautiful appearance. However, the full body of this plant, from the pistils to the roots, is really toxic.
Be poisoned by the Veratrum it means get violent stomach cramps, about 30 minutes after ingestion.

2 - Cerbera Odollam:
Commonly known as the โ€œSuicide Tree,โ€ the flowers produces a powerful glycoside called cerberin that is highly poisonous. The Cerberin takes effect within an hour. At first you experience a slight pain in the stomach and then you pass into a state of co*a. This substance is not detectable in the body and, for this reason, is also known as the "discreet murder weapon.

3 - Laburnum:
It's a deciduous tree born from southern Europe. The trees have beautiful drooping yellow flowers which give rise to the name. Every part of these trees contains cytisine, also used in low doses as a drug to help people quit smoking. However, in large doses, this chemical is lethal. Cytisine poisoning begins with intense vomiting, followed by foamy drool coming out of the mouth. After about an hour the convulsions begin which lead to a deep coma or even death.

4 - Kalmia Latifolia:
Pink and white flowers that bloom in late spring and are among the deadliest on Earth. Mostly fill the eastern United States, and some native North American tribes used the plant's leaves to commit suicide. The flower produces two types of poisons, andromedatoxin and arbutin. Andromedatoxin in small doses causes vomiting, salivation, watery eyes and nose, abdominal pain and slowed breathing. About an hour after ingesting it, you lose the ability to use your muscles and, eventually, c0ma and death occurs. Even the honey from the bees that pollinate this flower retains all the toxic properties of the flower itself.

5 - Zantedeschia:
Even a small amount of the chemical contained in this plant is enough to make a human's throat swell until the airway completely closes. Zantedeschia is a perennial species native to southern Africa. It contains calcium oxalate, a chemical that forms needle-like crystals in the internal organs of our body.

6 - Jacobea Vulgaris:
It is a very abundant wildflower in the UK and northern parts of Finland. It can grow on roadsides, in meadows and in uncultivated land. The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the presence of at least eight toxic alkaloids in this herb. Unlike most poisons that leave the body quickly, these alkaloids accumulate in the liver over time, causing liver cirrhosis. Once symptoms begin to appear, the damage is irreversible.

7 - Colchicum Autumnale:
Found in United Kingdom, where is known as "na~ked woman" but it is also found in Europe and New Zealand.
It's a small perennial herbaceous and all the body plant, in particularly the seeds and bulbs, is highly poisonous.
Main poisonous chemical component is the colchicine, an alkaloid that disrupting systematically all vitals functions of the body. Death can happen within a few days or within one week.

8 - Oenanthe Crocata:
Also known as Parsley, it grows along waterways and is very poisonous. The killer toxin of this plant is called oenanthotoxin and produces the so-called โ€œsardonic smileโ€. Anyone who ingests it is left with a smile as this toxin relaxes the muscles around the lips while the rest of the body goes through deadly convulsions. Furthermore, its roots are said to have a very pleasant flavor before poisoning those who consume them.
